The British boxer Anthony Joshua has left the medical facility, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday night. The fighter was caught in a vehicular crash outside Lagos on the 29th of December, a devastating event that claimed the lives of two of his valued colleagues.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been receiving medical attention while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his promoter stated earlier on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on X that Joshua was deemed clinically fit to continue his recovery at home.

“Joshua and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to offer their condolences to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” the commissioner stated.

A Tribute to the Fallen

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. Omotoso added that the champion was filled with sorrow and deeply emotional over the loss of his two dear friends.”

His release from the hospital comes as the boxing community offered its support for the champion in the wake of the devastating accident.
