Aircraft Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window
A plane ferrying the US defense secretary was required to make an emergency landing in the Britain on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the plane's windshield, according to an official announcement which verified that the secretary was unharmed.
"The aircraft touched down based on established safety measures and all passengers, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is safe," a spokesperson commented in a public statement.
The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the Belgian capital when the incident occurred.
This incident does not mark the first occasion that a American defense plane carrying a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.
In a previous incident this year, a American military jet ferrying Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was required to return to Washington after suffering a mechanical problem.
